U.S. Army Europe Soldiers assist with MILITARY DOCTOR 20 in Poland

Soldiers assigned to U.S. Army Europe participated in a subject matter exchange at MILITARY DOCTOR 20, an event that tested and trained Polish Land Forces cadets from the Military Medical Training Center, at Training Field Jezewo near Lodz, Poland, July 27 - 31, 2020.

EUCOM provides update on the European Reassurance Initiative

U.S. European Command continues to support the defense and security of NATO allies and bolster the security and capacity of U.S. partners in Europe. The European Reassurance Initiative (ERI), part of the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act of 2015, signed by President Obama on December 19, 2014, included $985 million in ERI funds. These monies enable the Department of Defense to continue its efforts to reinforce America’s solemn commitment to the safety and territorial integrity of our allies and to strengthen the security and capacity of our partners in the region.
DoD Announces European Infrastructure Consolidation Actions and F-35 Basing in Europe

The Department of Defense announced today the consolidation of some U.S. infrastructure in Europe, including the return of 15 sites to their host nations. These actions, taken as part of the European Infrastructure Consolidation (EIC) process, will save the U.S. government approximately $500 million annually. The DoD also announced the first F-35 basing in Europe at RAF Lakenheath, UK, which will bring new opportunities for collaboration between the U.S. and UK air forces.
