U.S. F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft from the 336th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Wing, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C., wrap up operations in Greece after the completion of Castle Forge. The Agile Combat Employment exercise is a U.S. Air Forces Europe-Air Forces Africa-led joint, multinational training event that took place from October 10 - November 15 2021.

Castle Forge provided a dynamic, partnership-focused environment that affirmed U.S. commitment to NATO allies and security in the Black Sea region while increasing partnership capacity alongside Bulgarian, Hellenic, and Romanian air force counterparts. Additionally, Castle Forge demonstrated the joint force’s combined ability to respond in times of crisis with a flexible, reassuring presence

“When it comes to proving the inherent agility of our force and reaffirming the solid partnerships we have with NATO allies in the Black Sea region, Castle Forge was a huge success,” said Gen. Jeff Harrigian, Commander, USAFE-AFAFRICA. “There is no question that our NATO allies provide the backbone of our ability to operate anywhere, anytime, and with any platform necessary to guarantee security and stability in the region. Besides being incredibly proud of what our entire team has accomplished during Castle Forge, I am confident the conditions have been set for even stronger cooperation in the future.”
