The 9th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron’s B-1B Lancers soared over Eastern Europe during a NATO fighter integration mission through the Black Sea region over the weekend.
Fighter aircraft from Denamrk, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Turkey joined the strategic bombers on the long-range mission and executed a range of offensive strikes and defensive maneuvers to support flying training objectives and interoperability between allies and partners.
“Our allies and partners bring the best out of our Airmen,” said Gen. Jeff Harrigian, U.S. Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa commander.“Having the ability to move critical assets across the globe and throughout the continent at a moment’s notice gives our coalition force the ability to respond and counter threats anywhere, anytime.”
Bomber Task Force Europe missions give Airmen, NATO allies, and coalition partners the opportunity to employ new methods of tactical-level support while amplifying U.S. Strategic Command’s strategic ability to respond to security threats globally at a moment’s notice.
