The U.S. European Command (USEUCOM) cyber directorate concluded its 2024 Command, Control, Computers and Communications (C4) Security Cooperation Summit on Aug. 9, 2024, at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, after bringing together more than 80 representatives from multiple U.S. organizations to assist in C4 security cooperation planning.

The five-day summit opened with comprehensive briefings on strategy alignment and broader security cooperation planning, paving the way for detailed discussions on the collaborative efforts among USEUCOM joint directorates, program executive offices and country-specific planning initiatives.

This forum further served as a platform for exchanging ideas and fostering a deeper understanding of component command-level initiatives, challenges and coordination efforts. With most European-based components supporting two geographic combatant commands in USEUCOM and U.S. Africa Command, collaboration is necessary to ensure consistency and continuity - especially during frequent personnel rotations.

The summit also facilitated strategic-level engagement among stakeholders across Europe, including the U.S. Joint Staff and the Defense Security Cooperation Agency to ensure both U.S. Defense and Defense Department priorities are aligned.

At the operational level, USEUCOM components and their subordinate units provided updates on their ongoing C4 security cooperation efforts, with a particular focus on overcoming fiscal challenges to support these initiatives.

The 2024 C4 Security Cooperation Summit underscored USEUCOM's commitment to reinforcing regional security and operational effectiveness, advanced through robust partnerships and a coordinated approach to C4 security cooperation.
