U.S., Poland continue momentum, sign 7 key agreements

U.S. - Poland Joint Commission co-chairs, Maj. Gen. Randy A. Kee, Director, Strategy and Policy, U.S. European Command, and Mr. Robert Kupiecki, Poland's Deputy Minister of National Defence, sign seven Implementing Arrangements on April 27 in Warsaw, Poland. These agreements, which have been in negotiations for years, included arrangements for Ballistic Missile Defense Land Use, Telecommunications, Labor, Tax Exemption, Military Service Support, Contracting, and Financial Institutions. The implementation details will establish subject-specific procedures that apply to U.S. forces' operations and basing within Poland.

M1A2 Abrams in Bulgaria - First Live Fire Exercise

Soldiers with 3rd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, participate in a live-fire tank shoot firing the first ever rounds fired by a U.S. M1A2 tanks in Bulgaria at Novo Selo Training Area, Bulgaria, June 24. Transported as part of a tank section from Germany to Bulgaria, the Abrams tank will be used by soldiers from 3rd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, alongside Bulgarian soldiers from the 6th Brigade Battle Group, during a live-fire exercise during Operation Speed and Power during Kabile 15 as part of Atlantic Resolve-South. Operation Speed and Power is a joint training exercise which demonstrates U.S. Army Europe's preparedness to deliver strategic effect in Atlantic Resolve-South by showcasing the freedom of movement to maneuver and fire M1A2 Abrams anywhere along the Eastern Flank. DEFENDER-Europe 20 Begins With 1st Combat Power Arrival

BREMERHAVEN, Germany— The first combat power into the European theater for DEFENDER-Europe 20 has rolled down the ramp of the American Roll-on Roll-off Carrier The Endurance at the port of Bremerhaven in Germany, February 20. The equipment belongs to 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, deploying to Germany from Fort Stewart, Georgia. The arrival of the ARC Endurance signifies the next major step of DEFENDER-Europe 20, the largest deployment of Soldiers from the U.S. to Europe for an exercise in more than 25 years.
