Latvian forces welcome 1-68 AR ‘Silver Lions’

CAMP ADAZI, Latvia – Latvian soldiers assigned to the Latvian Land Forces Infantry Brigade and U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to 1st Battalion, 68th Armor Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, complete an esprit de corps run, Feb. 17, 2017 at Camp Adazi, Latvia. The run brought U.S. and Latvian soldiers together following a welcome ceremony honoring the arrival of 1-68 AR in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. Atlantic Resolve is a U.S. led effort in Eastern Europe that demonstrates U.S. commitment to the collective security of NATO and dedication to the enduring peace and stability in the region. U.S. Marine armor, weapons arrive in Bulgaria

U.S. Marine tanks, artillery, and light-armored reconnaissance vehicles have arrived in Bulgaria to support NATO allies and international partner countries. The heavy equipment, assigned to the Combined Arms Company, Black Sea Rotational Force, arrived in Novo Selo Training Area, Bulgaria, Aug. 25, 2015. The tanks, artillery, and light armored reconnaissance vehicles were loaded on trains and moved across Europe demonstrating our allies’ and international partners’ ability to move heavy equipment across the region to support operations during a crisis. The equipment will allow the Marines to participate in mechanized regional multinational exercises in Eastern Europe.
