Fiscal year 2024: Second quarter

Recent collaboration with Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel & Readiness, has enhanced development and application of policies and programs that support the Secretary of Defense’s “Taking Care of Our People” initiatives. The Army’s Quality of Life Campaign reinforces EUCOM’s focus on its most precious resource – its  people.

  • DoDEA Universal Pre-Kindergarten Phase I Schools to begin in school year 2024-25; all schools in the European school districts are in Phase I except Wiesbaden, Aukamm, Ramstein and Ansbach Elementary Schools.
  • Effective Jan. 1, 2024, the Joint Travel Regulations authorizes service members reimbursement of the costs related to the relocation of a single pet that can occur during a PCS. Under this policy, members may be reimbursed up to $550 for a PCS move within CONUS and up to $2,000 for an OCONUS PCS to assist members in covering expenses directly related to a pet’s transportation, such as shipment and quarantine fees.
  • National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2023 expanded the Spouse Licensure Reimbursement Program to authorize reimbursement for spousal business costs arising from a permanent change of station. All service branches have similar policies with differences in how they process reimbursements.  Additional information can be found at www.militaryonesource.mil/education-employment/seco/state-licensing-and-career-credentials-initiative.
