TEL AVIV, ISRAEL – U.S. Army Gen. Curtis Scaparrotti, commander, U.S. European Command, visited Tel Aviv, Israel, Dec.13, to meet with Israeli Defense Forces Chief of Staff Gen. Gadi Eizenkhot and Israeli Defense Forces Deputy Chief of Staff Gen. Aviv Kochavi. The leaders discussed the strong U.S.-Israel military relationship, and recent bilateral successes such as conducting ballistic missile defense and interoperability exercise Juniper Cobra in March. Scaparrotti congratulated Eizenkhot on a successful tour leading the Israeli Defense Forces, and Kochavi on his nomination to replace Eizenkhot as chief of staff in 2019. Scaparrotti ended the meeting by expressing the U.S. commitment to the defense of Israel.
