MARSA, Malta (Dec. 7, 2011) – Mark Zammit, leading assistance and rescue officer for Malta’s Civil Protection Department, explains how to properly use oil spill cleanup equipment during Eurasia Partnership Capstone (EPC) 2011. Participants for EPC 2011 include approximately 100 representatives from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Malta, Romania, Ukraine and the United States, focused on strengthening maritime relationships between Eurasian nations. Training workshops range from maritime law enforcement, maritime search and rescue, marine environmental protection, leadership development courses for noncommissioned officers and, for the first time during EPC, advanced network-enabled maritime interdiction operations.
