The small hand of Lt. Dorina Petreeâ?s three-year-old daughter clasps the ribbon holding the U.S. Bronze Star medal which was presented to Petre in a ceremony by Maj. Gen. Michael Repass, commander, U.S. Special Operations Command Europe, on behalf of her husband, Maj. Marcel Petre, who was killed in Afghanistan while assigned as the Detachment Commander for Romanian Special Forces Operational Detachment- Alpha 012. The ceremony, which took place Sept. 2 in Tirgu Mares, Romania, honored Petre's legacy and the relationship of U.S. and Romanian Special Operations Forces who fought and serve together in support of the NATO International Security Assistance Force.
