Strategic Communication

Strategic communication is a focused government process to understand and engage key audiences to create, strengthen, and preserve conditions favorable to advancing national interests and objectives by using coordinated information, themes, plans, programs, and actions with other elements of national power.

At EUCOM, strategic communication is a command-wide culture, integrated into plans, policies and operations. Aiming to achieve desired communication effects on key audiences, information is disseminated via multiple means in a timely, culturally sensible fashion, using credible messengers. The results are evaluated, and messages and delivery methods get adjusted, if necessary.  Communication strategies coordinate, synchronize and integrate EUCOM communication capabilities, aligning them with other elements of national power, to help advance U.S. government interests and strategic objectives in EUCOM’s area of responsibility.

EUCOM’s motto, “Stronger Together,” serves as a platform for all of communication, both internal and external, articulating the command’s mission, vision and culture.
