GAO, Mali — It's another hot day in Gao, a small village north of Bamako, in the West African country of Mali. A team has assembled at a local village, preparing to perform tasks that would make the average person cringe. A team member is struggling to get a grip on a cow's tongue. Another is fighting to repel insects. A woman tries to stop an infestation of worms from spreading, while another has only a few minutes to stick her hand in a mouth full of teeth … and take one out.
