Pediatrics Association in Macedonia Recognizes United States for Humanitarian Assistance Efforts
Dr. Aleksandar Sajkovski, President of the Pediatrics Association of Macedonia, today awarded the American Embassy in recognition of the many years of successful cooperation and special contributions in supporting the goals of the Association.

OHRID, Macedonia – Dr. Aleksandar Sajkovski, President of the Pediatrics Association of Macedonia, today awarded the American Embassy in recognition of the many years of successful cooperation and special contributions in supporting the goals of the Association and improving children’s health in Macedonia. 

Lieutenant Colonel Michael Tarquinto, Chief of the Office of Defense Cooperation, accepted the award on behalf of the Embassy. 

In his remarks, LTC Tarquinto cited the recent renovation of the Pediatric Surgery Clinic Intensive Care Unit as well as a donation of cold chain equipment supporting immunization efforts across the country. 

The United States European Command’s Humanitarian Assistance Program provided over $400,000 in funding to accomplish these projects. In attendance at the opening ceremony were hundreds of pediatricians and medical personnel from twelve countries across Europe.
