"This (work) is a positive testament to our Italian workers capabilities and commitment," said Cade.
Italian base commander Army Col. Raffaele Iubini added that providing humanitarian aid is one of the most important and far reaching missions for Camp Darby.
"We have the ability to respond rapidly due to the excellent infrastructure and coordination between U.S. and Italian military structures and that make a huge difference for those waiting on the aid," said Iubini.
