The Quality of Life Conference focuses on sustaining and improving the quality of life for over 255,000 service members, civilians, retirees, Department of Defense contractors and family members in the EUCOM area of responsibility.
The EUCOM Readiness division has planned and sponsored the annual joint conference on behalf of the EUCOM Commander since 2004. The conference is a culmination of a year-long process to identify and resolve the quality of life concerns that are most important to the EUCOM family.
No assets are more important than our people and their families.
Quality of Life programs are critical to readiness and retention and to ensure our service members stay focused on the mission. No assets are more important than our people and their families.
Participants include delegates, focus group facilitators, subject matter experts, observers and senior-level guest speakers from the Office of the Secretary of Defense, service headquarters and the components. Grassroots delegates represent a cross-section of the EUCOM community - active and reserve service members, spouses, civilians and retirees from main operating bases, remote sites, deployed locations, and NATO sites.
The 2010 conference will be held March 7-11, 2010 at the Edelweiss Lodge and Resort in Garmisch, Germany.
During the conference participants advocate quality of life improvements that are important to our troops and their families:
The EUCOM Quality of Life Executive Steering Committee reviews and prioritizes issues identified by delegates for possible inclusion into the EUCOM Quality of Life Action Plan. The committee is comprised of component personnel leaders and senior enlisted leaders and is co-chaired by the Director of EUCOM Personnel and the EUCOM Senior Enlisted Leader.
